WEATHER UPDATE: We are now under a tornado warning and are following our safety protocols. All students are safe. We will keep you notified of any additional updates.

1 DAY AWAY!

Good Afternoon Chiefs,
This is Dr. Hembree from McCormick County School District with an important message. Due to the forecasted severe weather moving into our area from Tropical Storm Helene, an e-learning day is scheduled for Friday, September 27th.
The current forecast for our county calls for wind gusts up to 50 mph Thursday evening into Friday morning. The combination of strong wind gusts and excessive rainfall may result in flooding, downed trees, and potential power outages.
E-learning assignments will be posted in Google Classroom for students to complete. Should power outages occur, students will be afforded the opportunity to complete their assignments at a later date. Additional details regarding assignment completion and expectations will be forthcoming from your child’s school.
Please note that we will follow a regular schedule for Thursday, September 26th, but all afterschool activities and athletics are being canceled for Thursday afternoon and evening. We will continue to monitor the forecast and coordinate with our county emergency services team. Please stay tuned should any additional changes need to be made.
Thank you in advance for your attention to this vital message, and please stay safe.
Respectfully,
Dr. Hembree
