"Students toured the campus of South Carolina State University and received a welcome from university president, Col. (US Army Retired) Alexander Conyers, the 13th president of the school. They learned about the SC State Orangeburg Massacre, which was the shooting of student protestors in 1968. They also had the opportunity to see a few MHS graduates who encouraged them to push for greatness and assured them that it is possible for great things to come from McCormick."

"A highlight from the tour of Claflin University was its new student center that opened in March. The 80,000-square-foot, $40 million student center at Magnolia and Goff Avenue features a 172-seat theater with first-run movies, eSports center, meeting/conference rooms, food court with national eateries and an 800-seat ballroom."
