Good Morning Chiefs,
This is Dr. Hembree from McCormick County School District with an important weather update. Due to the weather that is being forecasted for later this afternoon and into the evening, we will be dismissing at noon today (Wednesday, 8/30). Hurricane Idalia is expected to bring high winds and several inches of rain to our area.
All students will be served breakfast and lunch today. Additionally, all students who normally attend Abbeville Career Center and Piedmont Technical College will not be sent this morning.
We will be in touch later on today in regards to any decisions pertaining to school tomorrow. Stay safe everyone!
Respectfully,
Dr. Hembree

Good afternoon, Parents/Guardians and Students.
This is Gena K. Wideman, principal of the awesome McCormick High School. I am looking forward to serving as your child’s principal for the 2023 – 2024 school year.
A special quote by Barbara Johnson reads, “To be in your children’s memories tomorrow, you have to be in their lives today.”
Parent/Guardians, as the first day of school is Friday, July 21st, in order for us to make sure your child is scheduled correctly and we prepare to keep you involved in your child’s learning, we need to make sure he/she is registered for school.
Registration will be held July 18, 2023 from 9am – 5:00pm in the McCormick Middle School Gymnasium.
When registering, make sure all contact information is accurate and up-to-date…this includes transportation information as well. Updated information is extremely important as we enter the new school year.
Lastly, parking for registration will be at the back of the school complex.
The Faculty and Staff are excited and look forward to meeting you and your child during registration on July 18.
Thank you and have a great Sunday evening.
