The Winter Sports Awards Ceremony will take place in the MHS gym on Thursday (2/26/26) at 6 pm. All basketball players, cheerleaders and parents are invited.
The MHS Beta Club is hosting a supply drive for Meg's House in Greenwood. The organization works to aid women and children suffering from domestic violence.

Congratulations to Sydney McNally for winning the DAR Citizenship Award!

Congratulations to the Chiefs for defeating North High School on Tuesday night and advancing to the 2nd round of the state playoffs. The Chiefs will now travel to CA Johnson on Saturday (2/21/26) and play at 7 pm.
Congratulations to the Lady Chiefs for defeating CA Johnson and advancing to the 2nd round of the state playoffs. The Lady Chiefs will host Hunter-Kinard-Tyler (HKT) on Friday (2/20/26) at 6 pm. Admission will be $8 (Cash only).
Basketball Playoffs-The Lady Chiefs will host CA Johnson on Monday (2/16/26) at 6 pm and the Chiefs will host North on Tuesday (2/17/26) at 7 pm. Only those individuals with a SCHSL pass will get in free. All tickets will be $8 (cash only).

The Chiefs varsity boys basketball team will travel to Calhoun Falls tomorrow (2-13-26) at 6 pm to play a tiebreaker game for 3rd place in the region.
Congratulations to the Lady Chiefs and the Chiefs varsity basketball teams. They both advanced to the first round of the state playoffs which will begin on Monday (2-16-26). We also would like to congratulate Coach Crawford for being named Region Coach of the Year and leading our Lady Chiefs to an undefeated season in region play. Times, dates and location of the playoffs will be shared with you once it has been determined.

The JV boys basketball game that was scheduled today (2-3-26) at Abbeville has been postponed and will be played at Abbeville next Tuesday (2-10-26) at 5 pm.
The JV and varsity basketball games that were scheduled to be played at Ware Shoals on Tuesday (1-27-26) will now be played starting at 4:45 pm on Wednesday (1-28-26).
Thanks to Dr. Tomiko T. Smalls for visiting the Writing Across Disciplines classes to discuss reflective journaling and strategies for completing successful scholarship applications. Students were provided with their own journals and began several writing prompts. They were challenged to think about what they are thinking (Metacognition) and to thoroughly review scholarship criteria and rubric, when provided. Thanks to Ms. Bradshaw and Ms. Ouzts for allowing Dr. Smalls to collaborate with their classes throughout the semester.
