Mrs. Judy Burt and Mrs. McTeer won the Joy Awards! Those who nominated them said, "Mrs. McTeer always has a smile and is kind in everything she says and does. Mrs. McTeer is always right there with us! She loves, supports, and encourages the students and the staff members, and she does it with genuine kindness. Thank you for being a positive leader on our bus. Mrs. Judy Burt was nominated because she greets everyone getting breakfast or lunch with a joyful smile. That joy spreads throughout the cafeteria every day. " These ladies are loved and appreciated at MES for spreading joy daily!

Good evening, Here is the "White's Weekly for Parents." Notice there is a parent survey we would love for you to fill out so we can have continuous improvement. Scan the QR Code to access the survey. As always, if you have any questions or concerns, please reach out to your child's teacher first, then administration next if needed. We love and appreciate you and your collaborative efforts to reach our destination, "World Class Excellence"!

Our Weekly Joy awards continue as we celebrate Mr. Stevens and Coach Dodd. Grant Stevens walks around the school with a smile on his face doing his work joyfully. He is kind to all. Coach Dodd is always encouraging us to walk on Fitness Fridays! I must admit I feel better and like I accomplished something after my laps on the track. Operation Fine Fall 🍂🍁in effect! I feel lighter already! We appreciate everyone in our building being on the bus and spreading positive energy.

Good afternoon parents. Students in grades K-5 took Fall MAP Testing last week. MAP Growth scores help teachers check student performance by measuring achievement and growth. Teachers use results to tailor classroom lessons and set goals for students. Any student in grades 1-5 that maintained or exceeded their spring MAP score earned a dress-down day pass. It was possible to earn it for Reading and Math. Students in Kindergarten class earned dress-down passes if they tried their best since this was their first time taking MAP. If our child brought home a pass today read it carefully to see if they earned a dress-down day for tomorrow and Friday. We are proud of students always doing their best!

MES is studying the "Energy Bus" by Jon Gordon. Every person no matter what role you hold, including parents, students, teachers, custodians, bus drivers, teacher assistants, or administrators, has an expectation to spread joy to others whom you come in contact with during the day. We will be nominating teachers and staff weekly for the Joy Award. The people who earn this award will be given the Joy Bus to display for the week. Congratulations to Ms. Gibson, 1st Grade Teacher, and Ms. Allen, our 4th/5th Grade Science Inquiry Teacher for displaying spreading this joy the first week of school. What are some ways you can spread joy to others?

Good evening parents, We have had a great start to our school year! Students in grades K-5 will be taking Fall MAP Testing this week. Students will take Reading MAP on Tuesday, August 1st, and Math MAP on Wednesday, August 2nd. MAP Growth scores help teachers check student performance by measuring achievement and growth. Teachers use results to tailor classroom lessons and set goals for students. To help your child prepare for these assessments, please ensure that your child gets a good night's sleep, eats a healthy breakfast, and comes to school ready to try his/her best. Any student in grades 1-5 that maintains or exceeds their spring MAP score will earn a dress-down day pass, so please encourage your child to work hard, take their time, and try their best! Let’s rock this test! If you have questions or concerns, give us a call. Sincerely, Angie White
