Good afternoon parents.
Students in grades K-5 took Fall MAP Testing last week. MAP Growth scores help teachers check student performance by measuring achievement and growth. Teachers use results to tailor classroom lessons and set goals for students.
Any student in grades 1-5 that maintained or exceeded their spring MAP score earned a dress-down day pass. It was possible to earn it for Reading and Math. Students in Kindergarten class earned dress-down passes if they tried their best since this was their first time taking MAP. If our child brought home a pass today read it carefully to see if they earned a dress-down day for tomorrow and Friday.
We are proud of students always doing their best!

We have had an amazing week. Students were so excited to start clubs back. See the Parent's White's Weekly for more information and upcoming events.

Congratulations to Mrs. Hutcheson, our Guidance Counselor, and Mrs. Moore, our Paraprofessional, for spreading joy around our building.

MES is studying the "Energy Bus" by Jon Gordon. Every person no matter what role you hold, including parents, students, teachers, custodians, bus drivers, teacher assistants, or administrators, has an expectation to spread joy to others whom you come in contact with during the day. We will be nominating teachers and staff weekly for the Joy Award. The people who earn this award will be given the Joy Bus to display for the week. Congratulations to Ms. Gibson, 1st Grade Teacher, and Ms. Allen, our 4th/5th Grade Science Inquiry Teacher for displaying spreading this joy the first week of school. What are some ways you can spread joy to others?

Good evening parents,
We have had a great start to our school year!
Students in grades K-5 will be taking Fall MAP Testing this week. Students will take Reading MAP on Tuesday, August 1st, and Math MAP on Wednesday, August 2nd. MAP Growth scores help teachers check student performance by measuring achievement and growth. Teachers use results to tailor classroom lessons and set goals for students.
To help your child prepare for these assessments, please ensure that your child gets a good night's sleep, eats a healthy breakfast, and comes to school ready to try his/her best. Any student in grades 1-5 that maintains or exceeds their spring MAP score will earn a dress-down day pass, so please encourage your child to work hard, take their time, and try their best! Let’s rock this test!
If you have questions or concerns, give us a call.
Sincerely,
Angie White

MES sure does appreciate the donations from The South Carolina School Resources Officers Association! Deputy Callahan presented the items to Mrs. McTeer and Ms. White to share with students who are in need of supplies.
