Have a great weekend!

Have a wonderful weekend!

MES would like to recognize Bethany Masonic Lodge #415 for their generous donations. They donated supplies such as glue, paper, pencils, and other school supplies in addition to a check that can be used for clubs and field trips. Pictured here are Brother Demetrius Odom and Brother Ronnie Morton presenting the supplies to Ms. White. Thank you again for supporting our students!

MES would like to extend a very special thank you to the Rotary Club of E-Club of the Carolinas for their generous donation of school supplies for one of our classes. Ms. Bryson and her students are excited to enjoy the STEM indoor recess activities along with many other supplies they will use in their room.

You do not want to miss the Parenty University this week! We are looking forward to seeing you on Thursday!

Here is your Parent Weekly!
If you have any questions, give us a call!

Good Morning,
We have several events going on next week and wanted to give you an early heads-up to prepare for these. MES students can dress up to celebrate Red Ribbon Week. See the flyer for each day's theme. We want to thank our Student Council for proposing these activities and Mrs. Hutcheson, our guidance counselor for providing classroom lessons related to Red Ribbon Week.
In addition, MHS is now selling "footprints" that MES students can purchase in memory of a loved one who has had cancer. These will be displayed around the classroom doors. If you would like for your child to purchase one, please send $1 for each print you'd like to purchase no later than next Tuesday. You are invited to come out to the event. See the flyer for details.

Good Evening,
We have had a wonderful week at MES! Don't forget you should be receiving report cards in the mail next week. Teachers are scheduling conferences, so be sure to attend those.
Enjoy your weekend!

We hope you all are having a wonderful break. We miss you and look forward to seeing everyone on Monday, October 9.

Did you know that MES has a News and Technology Club for grades 3-5? During these first nine weeks, students in this club, led by Mrs. Thrumond, published a digital newsletter containing the positive things that are going on at MES. This newsletter is ready to be shared digitally! When students were not working on the newsletter, they worked on digital citizenship, coding, or school-related 3D printing projects as they are needed. (There is also a possibility of creating a yearbook). We are empowering students to reach their greatest potential! Be sure to check out the newsletter.

MES would express how much we appreciate McCormick Methodist Church and the donations of supplies that they gave to our students. This quote by Donna Shalala is very true, "We know the parental support and community support make a difference.” From the bottom of our hearts, our administrators, teachers, faculty, and parents always appreciate the support of our community.

It has been an amazing first nine weeks! We wish you a safe intercession. We will see some of you Monday for "Full Steam Ahead" or "Camp EAGLE".

Good Afternoon,
Don't forget that tomorrow we have an opportunity for parents that you do not want to miss! We have a parenting session on "Love and Logic" which will be presented at our Parent University at 9:30 a.m. Sign in to the MES office. Love and Logic teaches strategies and tools to help parenting seem less chaotic and stressful. We look forward to seeing you. https://www.loveandlogic.com/pages/about-us

We hope to see you all tomorrow ( Tuesday, September 19) at our PTO meeting! The book fair will be open from 3:45-5:00. PTO officers meet at 5:00. PTO meeting for everyone will be at 5:30 in the MES Cafeteria. We will showcase some of our clubs. We look forward to seeing you!

Congratulations to our recent Joy Award Winners!
Mrs. Rucker has been very helpful throughout the school week and works hard in the garden. She is always willing to help do what is needed for students.
Mrs. G. Hill Is always positive and willing to collaborate as a team in PLCs and outside of PLCs. She has good things to say about students and maintains positive communication with students in all situations.

We have a lot going on next week. Be sure to read the Parent Weekly carefully. Have a great weekend! Go Chiefs!

Monday is fall picture day! Students will be allowed to wear their best dress for pictures as long as it falls within the regular guidelines. Uniforms are not required.

The MES Book Fair begins Monday!
Parents must upload money to the E-Wallet. No cash is accepted at school.
See the link: https://bookfairs.scholastic.com/content/fairs/how-ewallet-works.html?fairId=5519284
However, parents can attend on September 19, from 3:45-5:00 p.m. prior to the PTO meeting and use cards or cash at that time.
This is a tutorial on how to use the E-Wallets: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Zr8D2Gb3KdA
If you have any questions, call the school and ask for Mrs. Thurmond in the media center.
Thank you for supporting the Scholastic Book Fair at MES!

Good Morning,
Ben Carson said, " Refusing to own your own mistakes, doesn't make you seem more competent; it reveals cowardice, callousness, and untrustworthiness." Ms. White made a mistake. I approved that MES could participate in Spirit Week for Homecoming a few weeks ago. However, I let this week slip up on me thinking it was later in the season. I did not get information out as quickly as I should have. Please forgive me! However, I wanted you all to know that MES students CAN participate in Homecoming Spirit Week! Let's enjoy this week and celebrate the CHIEFS!

Have a great weekend!
