Hello Parents,
Today, your child is bringing home a Parent Information Envelope letting you know about a safe and easy way for our school to raise funds for essential tools our students and teachers need to succeed.
The SchoolStore fundraiser is 100% online so there is NO face-to-face selling, handling money, or delivering products. Your participation will take less than 12 minutes, and there are exciting prizes to make it fun for the students.
Here is all you need to do to participate:
1. Go to https://www.schoolstore.net/sid.t?0000002514 to sign up.
2. Send form emails inviting family, friends, and co-workers to support your child.
3. Return the envelope with the Student Prize Code to the school so your child can get their fun participation prize.
Be sure to ask your child for the Parent Envelope tonight. Your participation will make a difference for our school and teachers!
Thanks,
McCormick Elementary School

Good morning,
Please go to the MSCD website and check out our Parent Compact and Title I survey. Your opinions matter to us. https://www.mccormick.k12.sc.us/page/title

Good evening,
We are having a great week at MES. We wanted to let you know that students will be taking MAP testing on Wednesday and Thursday of this week. MAP Growth scores help teachers check student performance by measuring achievement and growth. Teachers use results to tailor classroom lessons and set goals for/with students.
Since MAP Growth tests provide immediate and accurate information about your child’s learning, it’s easy for teachers to identify students with similar scores who are ready for instruction in similar skills and topics, and then plan instruction accordingly.
Each school year, students in grades K-5 take the tests in the Fall, Winter, and Spring. Following each testing period, you will receive a Family Report showing a summary of how your child is performing academically. We plan to mail these reports home with your child's interim on September 3.
Please be sure your child is present and on time each day for these tests. Speak to your child about taking their time and doing their best. Reach out to your child's teacher or the office if you have any questions or concerns. Have a great evening and stay safe.

Good evening MES parents and guardians,
The student's first day is approaching at lightning speed! We are so excited to welcome them back this Friday. We hope you have already completed registration! Students not registered, before Friday, will not be able to stay on the first day. Be sure to attend Open House Thursday sometime between 3-6 pm. Parents will not be able to walk students in on Friday morning, so this would be a great time to meet the teacher and bring your school supplies. We will also have a table for you to get your car rider tag. For safety reasons, this year, you MUST have the tag in your car to get your child at the car rider line. If you do not have the tag, you will be directed to the front office to go inside and sign them out.
If you have any questions or concerns, feel free to call the school.

Good evening MES Chiefs, This is Ms. White with important announcements regarding the 2024-2025 school year. We hope you have had an exciting break! I hope you are well-rested and ready to come back. The first day of school for students is Friday, July 26. All students must be registered with proper paperwork, before the first day, or they will not be able to stay at school. We will be having an Open House for you to get your child's schedule and meet the teachers on Thursday, July 25 from 3:00-6:00 pm. Make plans to attend to ensure your child has an amazing start to the year. Parents will not be able to walk their children to classrooms on the first day of school. Our mission is, "At MES we create school experiences that empower students to reach their full potential." Our theme this year is, "Be a Bean. Transform your environment." (Coffee Bean). To do this, it takes collaboration and communication among us all. We look forward to partnering with you to give your child a "World Class" education.

Good Morning,
Remember today is registration day! All students need to be registered before they are scheduled and begin school. If you did not pre-register your child on Final Forms, you must come today to complete registration. You do not have to attend today if you pre-registered. We will not be giving out class schedules today. Class schedules will be given out on Thursday, July 25 from 3:00-6:00 during our Open House.

Registration is open for the 2024-2025 school year. All students, new and returning students, must register. If you have not registered online yet, you will need to attend this registration day tomorrow. We look forward to seeing you!

We hope you all are enjoying your first week of summer break!
We miss you already. Be sure you register for the upcoming school year now online!

Good afternoon,
We hope you enjoyed your day off today. Thank you to all parents for supporting our field day and the "School House Rock" Program. Our awards celebrations will be taking place this week. If your child is receiving an award, he/she should have brought home a letter on Wednesday or Thursday notifying you of the award. We will not be allowing early dismissals after 1:00 each day unless you complete the early dismissal form. Don't forget we have a clear bag policy for all of our events! We look forward to celebrating next week!

Field Day Important Reminders: We need individual bags of chips, Debbie Cakes, and water. Currently, we do not have enough. If you attend, you must stay with your child's teacher outside. No early dismissals are allowed tomorrow unless you filled out the form and turned it in. If you did fill out the paper for early dismissal, you must come to the front office to sign your child out, then we will call your child. Field Day is a dress-down day, but they must still follow the school dress code such as no spaghetti tops, shorts being the appropriate length, and no leggings, or flip flops/slides. We also have a clear bag policy on campus at all times even outside. Let us know if you have any questions.

Congratulations to our recent winners from the Earthquake Resistant Towers Contest. Thank you to Mrs. Rucker and the team for organizing this event and grant. Students were engaged and excited about learning.

Good Afternoon,
We have had a wonderful week! Students are ready for their big "show time" next week! Grades 3-5 will be taking MAP testing on Tuesday and Wednesday. They need to get a good night's sleep and be on time for school. We are ready to show SC that MES is the Best! Next week is also teacher appreciation week. See the flyer for some ideas on how to share your appreciation of your child's teacher. We would love for you to also give them a shout-out. You can do this straight from your phone by using the "Parent Locker Room" which is located on your MCSD App.
Let us know if you have any questions or concerns.
