Good evening, This is an important reminder about MAP testing tomorrow and Wednesday. Please be sure to review the parent letter and the video posted on Facebook about the rewards. Make sure students get a good night's rest and are at school on time tomorrow and Wednesday. Mostly, just let them know that you believe in them and encourage them with positive affirmations. We cannot wait to see how much students have grown so far this year! We are better than average and ready to prove it!

Good afternoon parents, Our busy week this week included a celebration of students who earned academic achievement awards for scoring "Meets", "Exceeds", or for meeting their growth goals last year. Congratulations to all of the students for earning these awards. We also celebrated Red Ribbon Week. CornerStone and Mrs. Dana Brock presented a presentation to students. The teachers enjoyed dressing the part this week as much as the students. On our "Happy to be Healthy" day we celebrated Mrs. Stacey Durant as a cancer survivor. We are blessed to have her at MES. MCSD is hosting a supply drive in the middle school gym tomorrow, October 26th from 10 am to 1 pm. Many items including clothing (kids, women, and men), towels, sheets, toiletry items, and many more will be available. Report Cards will be mailed home on Monday. Teachers will be setting up conferences soon with you to discuss your child's progress. Let us know if you have any questions or concerns. Have a great weekend! Ms. White

Subject: Important Updates for MES "Little Chiefs" and Parents Good afternoon, I hope you all are doing well and recovering from such a devastating and challenging couple of weeks. It made us so happy to see some of you on the bus routes, in the community, and at the complex. We are planning to return to school on schedule, on Monday, October 14. A few things on our calendar for the week are as follows: 1) Second graders will be taking CoGat and Iowa testing beginning October 16, 17, 18, 21, and 22. Please be sure students get a good night's sleep and arrive on time. 2) Students have signed up for their new "Chief Time" Clubs. These begin on Wednesday. 3) Unfortunately, The Good News Club will not start as planned. The organization hopes to get the program running in the early spring. 4) MES will celebrate Homecoming. Students can show their spirit by dressing up on Thursday as a Celebrity Look-A-Like and on Friday showing your "Chieftain Pride!" 5) The MCSD Academic Celebration scheduled for Monday has been postponed until Thursday, October 24. Thank you for your continued support. We are looking forward to being back on our regular schedule and seeing you Monday! Let us know if you have any questions, concerns, or areas of support you need. Sincerely, Angie White Principal, McCormick Elementary School
