Parent Reminder: Registration Day is Coming Up!

Dear Parents/Guardians,

Just a friendly reminder that Registration Day is scheduled for Thursday, July 10th, 2025 from 9AM to 5PM in the MMS/MHS gym. Drive to the back of the complex and enter through the MMS gym. Please be reminded that the district uses Final Forms (https://mccormick-sc.finalforms.com/) for registration. If you are a returning student, to make your time go faster during registration, please update your child's information prior to registration day. If your child is new to the district or has been in the district before but attended another school last year, please create an account with a current email and follow the steps for enrollment.

Please make sure to bring the following:

Proof of residency (current utility bill, property tax bill, mortgage receipt, rental/lease agreement, cell phone bill)

Immunization records (7th graders)

Student birth certificate

7th-12th grade students interested in playing volleyball this upcoming season will have volleyball practice starting on Tuesday, June 24, 2025 at 4-6 pm. Students must have a completed and passed physical on file before they will be allowed to practice.

McCormick County Parks and Recreation presents Community Fun Day on Saturday, June 7, 2025 from 10AM to 2PM at 110 Bradley St., McCormick, SC. We hope to see you there!

All MMS Students, Tomorrow, Friday, May 30th, is a dress down day for all MMS students. The dress down day permits jeans without holes, tears, or rips. However, leggings, jeggings, sweatpants, joggers, hoodies, crocs, slides, and similar items are not allowed. Also, if students if you are going on the Field Trip tomorrow please make sure you are on time as we will depart prior to 9AM. Students may also bring extra money but it is not required. The 1A State Track and Field Championship will take place at 5 pm on Thursday (5-15-25) at Richland Northeast High School.

Athletic physicals will be given after school at MHS on Thursday, May 22, 2025. The cost of the physical is $25 and will cover the student-athlete the entire 2025-2026 school year. Students need to pick up a physical form from their head coach or Coach Pratt's office and sign up to take the physical before Friday, May 16, 2025. MHS sign ups will be located on Ms. Kelly's door and MMS sign ups will be located on the middle school gym door.

Good afternoon! This is Dr. Hopkins, Principal of McCormick Middle School. Tomorrow our 6th grade students will begin SC READY testing in Science. All of our students will take SC READY Math on the 13th, Writing on the 14th, and Reading on the 20th and 21st. Our students and staff have worked very hard this year to prepare for these important tests. Our Winter and Spring MAP scores indicated high student growth for our school in ELA and Math. We are expecting similar results on our SC READY Assessments. We need your help! Please make sure that our students get to bed early and are well rested and focused on these days. We have spread these assessments out over 3 weeks to help our students give their best performance. Thank you for your support this year! We love our kids and are very proud of them. On yesterday, MMS students participated in the MBS STEAM Tour Experience at the Mercedes-Benz Stadium in Atlanta, GA. Subjects student learned in the classroom came to life. Tour guides educated students about how the STEAM elements operate within the building and how careers align within the sports and entertainment industry. The 60-90-minute experience covered education in areas such as building design and engineering elements, sustainability, sports and nutrition education, the MBS Art Collection and the MBS Urban Garden (Mercedes-Benz Stadium Newsletter).

The baseball game vs. Thornwell has been postponed for today (4-8-25). The softball team will travel to Ware Shoals today to play a game that starts at 5:30 pm.

The soccer and baseball games that were scheduled for today have been postponed. Soccer will now play Lincoln County at home on Wednesday (4-16-25) at 6 pm. The baseball team will play a doubleheader at Abbeville on Monday (4-21-25) starting at 5:30 pm.
