MHS Parenting Center

This is Gena K. Wideman, your high school principal.
Welcome back to the 2026-2027 school year. We are looking forward to student return.
Students return to school tomorrow, July 22, 2026.
As you prepare to return, I want to share a few simple reminders as we start the school year.
Please adhere to the following:
1. Make sure all students arrive at school before 8:00am. Students, you are expected to be in your 1st block class before the 8:00am tardy bell. If you will be eating breakfast, you will need to arrive before the 7:50am bell. Any students arriving at 8:00am or after will be marked tardy for school.
2. Pay attention to the district dress code policy. The policy will be enforced upon student return to school.
3. If your child does not have his/her schedule, one will be provided.
4. All students are expected to have their school ID visible at all times. Students, if you did not receive your ID at registration, we will provide one for you.
Lastly, the ABC on EOC trip to Charleston has been moved to July 31 due to the charter bus driver's schedule. If you have turned in your permission slip, thank you. If you have not, you may do so tomorrow at the latest.
Thank you, and we look forward to working with each of you this year.

Good afternoon,
Welcome Back, Students/Parents/Guardians! This is Gena K. Wideman, your high school principal.
Thank you for a great first day of school.
Just a quick message:
The ABC on EOC trip to Charleston, SC, will take place on July 31st as opposed to July 24th due to the charter bus driver's schedule.
Also, just a few reminders:
Make sure to arrive at school before 8:00am. All students should be in their first block class before the 8:00am bell. If they would like to eat breakfast, be present at school before 7:50am.
The dress code policy is still in effect. Review the policy for specifics.
Once your ID is received, wear it every day.
Work hard to be better each day, because you are!
See you all tomorrow.

Senior picture day update:
The library is undergoing an update/remodel & will be unavailable. We will be using the Parenting Center (Rm 775) by the art room. You will need to enter through the doors at the end of the hall from the back parking lot & will not be allowed to go down the hallway beyond the bathrooms for any reason.
I have been informed that Ms. Cantrell will be present to take pictures of senior sports participants from 8-10:30am for banners. Please check with your coaches for more details, including when/where to get your uniform(s) as I do not have that information at this time.
Please see the Yearbook & Picture Days webpage for more information.
