Welcome Back Students & Parents/Guardians!

My name is Gena K. Wideman, Principal of the great McCormick High School. It is my

pleasure to serve as your principal for the 2025-2026 school year. McCormick High

continues to grow through its vision of creating a learning environment that builds

character, promotes critical thinking, and requires staff and students to take ownership

of his/her learning and behavior. We are growing doctors, lawyers, construction

workers, welders, cosmetologist, entrepreneurs, educators, etc. Evidence was shown

through our clubs, organizations, college and career readiness programs, and observing

our students show growth academically and behaviorally. We are truly looking forward

to a great year as we celebrate MHS “Movin’ On Up”!

Parent/Guardians, in order for MHS to continue its growth, we need your help. Getting

your child registered for school is the first step in his/her career path.

 Registration will be held July 10, 2025 from 9am – 5:00pm in the

McCormick High School Gymnasium. During registration, you will receive

various information ranging from course schedules to becoming involved in the

Parent-Teacher Organization.

 Make sure your child is present for registration so he/she can take an ID picture.

If they do not take an updated ID picture, the picture from 2024 will be used to

print his/her ID.

 Clear bookbags will be available for purchasing during registration, as clear bags

are required for the upcoming school year.

 Open-house for MHS will be held on Monday, July 21, 2025 from 12:30pm –

3:30pm.

o During open-house, your child will be able to discuss his/her schedule to

make sure any courses needed towards graduation are not missed.

o We would love for you and your child to come and meet his/her teachers.

 First day of school ~ Thursday, July 24, 2025.

Parents/guardians, we look forward to your support as we provide college and career

pathways for your child through the Profile of the South Carolina Graduate—World

Class Knowledge, Skills, Life/Career Characteristics, and Excellence.

Sincerely,

Gena K. Wideman
