McCormick High Seniors, it is time to start working on your post-secondary plans which means beginning the college application process. Seniors, please remember to request letters of recommendation and register for the SAT or ACT, if necessary. You also should be in the process of researching colleges and scholarships. Admission deadlines are fast approaching, as well as some national scholarship deadlines. Use websites such as Fastweb.com and Bigfuture.collegboard.org. Create an account on these sites to assist you with your research. Also, contact your school counselor, Ms, Langley can help you through this process.

NCAA Eligibility Center
Student Athletes - NCAA Eligibillity Center
All student athletes who are wanting to play sports in college need to register with the NCAA Eligibility Center by the end of their junior year! You will create a profile that college coaches will use to see your stats, grades, and other info.

Common Application
The Common Application is an undergraduate admission application that applicants may use to apply to more than 800 member colleges and universities in 49 states and the District of Columbia.
Black College Common Application
The Common Black College Application has a similar process to the Common Application. Whereas most of the time you pay application fees to each college you submit an application. The Common Black College Application allows a student to apply to 53 Historically Black Colleges and Universities who are members of the service, for a one time fees of $35.

South Carolina Board of Education (SBE) Regulation 43-243 list course requirements for public high school students to graduate with a South Carolina High School Students must earn a total of twenty-four (24) credits as as follows:

High School Promotion
To be promoted a student must meet the following criteria:
From 9th to 10th - 6 units; 1 English, 1 Math and completion of one (1) year of high school.
From 10th to 11th - 11 credits; 2 English, 2 Math and 1 Science and completion of two (2) years of high school
From 11th to 12th - 17 credits; 2 English, 2 Math and 2 Science and completion of three (3) years of high school
