Welcome to the 2025-2026 School Year!

Dear Parents, Guardians, and Community Members,

I am honored and excited to begin my 5th year as the Principal of McCormick Elementary School. My heart has been dedicated to serving this district for over 30 years. I'm thrilled to be a part of this team that has transformed into a World-Class District.

The MES vision is to create school experiences that empower students to reach their full potential. We will do that by providing high-quality tier 1 instruction for all students, providing flex grouping to meet students' individual needs, planning STEM days and other enrichment opportunities, and collaborating with parents and community stakeholders for continuous improvement.

Our teachers and staff are dedicated to student success. One of our greatest accomplishments in the past 4 years is that we are no longer on the CSI list of underperforming schools in SC! We will continue to strive to be “Excellent” in all that we do.

Education is a partnership. One goal this year is to increase parent participation in our events and PTO. We need your continued support. We plan to focus on the 10 ways of being a great team member. (Hard Hat, by Jon Gordon) These qualities align with the Profile of the SC Graduate in learning some life skills, such as collaboration, teamwork, and integrity.

As Jon Gordon says, “ Well done is better than well said.” So, let’s all go out and show the world that MES is the real “gold mine" in McCormick County. Will you put on your hard hat and join us for an exciting year?
