Title I is a federal program designed to help students acquire the knowledge and skills necessary to meet the challenging state content standards. Title I resources are distributed to schools where needs are the greatest, in amounts sufficient to make a difference in the improvement of instruction. Each school has a committee of parents, teachers, community members, and administrators to help plan and implement the Title I program in that school.
In the McCormick County School District, Title I provides funding for:
- 2 Curriculum Coaches
- 1 Parenting Coordinator
- 1 Reading Intervention Teacher
- MCSD Summer Programs
- Study Island
- Professional Development
- Curriculum Materials
- Instructional Supplies
Comments and suggestions made by parents are important to the planning and implementation of the Title I school-wide programs. Please contact the school's principal if you would like to make some suggestions concerning the Title I program or participate on a planning team. You can also contact the district Title I staff.
