my name is Lauryn Hill I am a hip-hop and rhythm and blues artists that took home five awards at the first four first annual Grammy awards for my 1998 album The miseducation of Lauryn Hill this made me the first woman or a hip hop artist to ever win five Grammy for album of the Year best new or best female R&B performance best army song doo-wop and best R&B album listen to minute my place in music hip-hop and black history at the current day I am an activist I establish a camp known as the refugee camp youth project which raises money to send Anna fitting used to summer count my name is dollar fund to support black American businesses and communities in the association with the NFL I'm an artist I'm always thinking about how I can use my platform to further Racial equality my mpower black America Geico I am a hip hop artist that inspires my listeners with songs that shed light on to experience of black people in America I use my music to raise awareness of police brutality with songs like neighbors and be free which was attributed light brown who was killed in Ferguson Missouri also use my music to promote positive role models for African American Community as well as self love and appreciation for the skin you are born with with songs like cookie smile and love yours I invited you to my house and Fayetteville North Carolina to remain an education and realize their potential I even bought my childhood home at 2014 Forest Hill Drive and rent it out to struggling families when they are desperate to live rent-free while they mate and development, along with bronze winner John Carlos during the medal ceremony at the 1968 Olympic Games in Mexico City are real symbolize the black power salute and hope to call attention to the plight of the black man in America I television industry through the work so I create I recently directed the film One Night in Miami or fictional account of a real life in between Malcolm X Muhammad Ali Sam Cooke and Jim Brown in 1960 for this film depicts vulnerable conversations in which the group reflects on struggles and black men in the spotlight during the Civil Rights era
