  • Parent Information from Mrs. Wideman

    ATTENTION 8th Grade Parents:

    There will be an important parent meeting on Monday, Jan. 13 at 5:30 p.m. in Room 440 concerning the upcoming STEM trip to Florida. Please make plans to attend.

    I would like you to join me as we welcome Mrs. Sulema Wright (wrights@mccormick.k12.sc.us ) to our staff. Mrs. Wright will be teaching 8th grade math and one 7th grade math course.

    REMINDER:

    Students should return in proper dress:

                No hoodies or jackets with hoods should be worn inside the building

                Pants color—grey, black, or beige

                Shirt colors—a solid red, black, or white

                Sweat-shirts or pullovers must be a solid red, black, or white

    Students must be in attendance each day, during each period.

    * Please encourage your child to give his/her best on the MAP test. MAP scores help guide future planning for your child.

    GRADE LEVEL INFORMATION:

    6th Grade Parents

    The 2nd half of OWA courses will begin when students return. Students may complete lessons and projects at home; quizzes and tests must be done at school.

    As teachers will provide all the support necessary during school hours, students must work at home daily to stay on pace.  

    7th Grade Parents

    Beginning January 7th, Miss K. Foster will be the OWA Facilitator for 7th grade ELA until further notice.

    The 2nd half of OWA courses will begin when students return. Students may complete lessons and projects at home; quizzes and tests must be done at school. As teachers will provide all the support necessary during school hours, students must work at home daily to stay on pace.  

     Project-Based Learning (PBL) this semester will focus on World Hunger.

    8th Grade Parents

    The STEM trip is quickly approaching.   If you have any questions regarding the upcoming STEP trip, please contact Ms. Shelonda Houston (houstons@mccormick.k12.sc.us ).

  • Flu Shots Offered at School through DHEC

    The South Carolina Department of Health and Environmental Control (DHEC) is working with your school district to provide flu shots at your child’s school this fall. It is important that all children get vaccinated every year.

    There will be no cost to you or your child for the flu shot at school. If applicable, payment from Medicaid will be made to DHEC on your behalf.
