Welcome to McCormick Elementary! My name is Tiara Watson and I am the assistant principal at MES. I am honored to lead and serve the McCormick community. My husband Will and I live in Greenwood with our two Little Chiefs Gabby and Savannah. I have been an educator for over a decade where I have served in several capacities. Prior to working in McCormick, I worked in Edgefield County Schools. I served as TAP mentor teacher, Cerra Mentor Teacher, SAFE-T evaluator, and a TAP Master Teacher. I also served as Teacher of the Year twice. In December 2015, I graduated from Clemson University with my ED.S in Administration and Supervision. Education is my passion and calling in life. A teacher can touch a life....forever.
At MES, we are in the business of touching lives. While serving in the role of the assistant principal, one of my job responsibilities is to ensure the school environment is safe and conducive for learning. We are a PBIS school and our expectations are: We are respectful. We are responsible. We are ready to learn. We are Little Chiefs! We teach and reinforce positive academic and social behaviors on a daily basis. We also reward students for their positive behavior throughout the year. Students earn Chief Bucks in which they can redeem for various prizes throughout the year.
I believe in the saying it takes a village to raise a child, and your involvement in your child's education is extremely important to me. Our school theme is: One Team, One Goal, No Limits! When it comes to our Little Chiefs, there are no limits! Everyday your child will experience one of the best educational experiences South Carolina has to offer. Our doors are always open and I look forward to working with you!
